It has been an honor serving as your mayor over the past term, and I am grateful for the trust and support you have shown me. As we approach the upcoming election, I am once again seeking your vote to continue serving as your mayor.  During my time in office, my administration and I have worked tirelessly to address the needs and concerns of our community. I have prioritized public safety, infrastructure improvements, the budget, and economic development to ensure that our town continues to thrive and grow.

If I am re-elected, we have the potential to make significant strides in three key areas:

​

• economic development plan, development of new businesses, creation jobs

• development of better infrastructure. One crucial aspect of this is the construction of sidewalks, which play a pivotal role in creating safer and a more accessible community.

• fostering stronger ties between the City of San Elizario and the San Elizario Independent School District by developing a School Resource Officer (SRO) program.

 

These initiatives are crucial for the sustainable safety of the young generation and the growth and prosperity of our city, and I am committed to seeing them through to realization.

 

Allow me to highlight some of the accomplishments achieved during my current administration:

• Establishment of a new Accounting Department to ensure fiscal responsibility and transparency.

• Conducting a thorough Marshal Audit to improve operational efficiency and accountability.

• Securing MPO Funding of $400K for an in-depth street study to inform future infrastructure projects.

• Allocating ARPA funds to revitalize four streets, enhancing our city's infrastructure.

• Securing a year-long contract with Vertex Construction & Engineers for comprehensive roadway repairs and maintenance, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for our residents.

• Implement the Alnor St. Mitigation Project

• Establishing a partnership to lease a farm for constructing a solar farm

• Substantial increase in street repair funds, from $30k to $300,000, to address long-standing maintenance issues.

• connections and partnerships to leverage resources and opportunities for our city's benefit.

• Uncovered an additional $1.4 million in funding to support vital community projects.

• Facilitated the opening of a new McDonald's restaurant, creating 100 job opportunities and contributing to local economic growth.

• The USA Today designation San Elizario as a Best Historic Small Town 2023, recognizing our rich cultural heritage and historical significance.

• Establishment of a Court of Records

• Implementation of policies, procedures, and processes to ensure effective governance.

These achievements underscore my administration's commitment to progress, innovation, and inclusivity. However, much work still needs to be done, and I am eager to continue serving our community with dedication and integrity.
